MOM!, There's blood in my oatmeal!

Today I made Nolan his usual morning breakfast,  Oatmeal (his favorite).
He prefers cinnamon and sugar but I was out so I made him Strawberry oatmeal. While the water was getting hot, I played tug-of-war with Snowflake, our 12 pound chihuahua. Her preference is to play with a sock. So as I was "tugging and warring" she lost grip and bit me (on accident). I stopped and went to finish making Nolan his oatmeal. When he sat down at the table he immediately jumped up and ran to me. "Are you ok mom?" I said, "Sure, I'm fine. Why?" He said, "You bled in my oatmeal." I had to reassure him I was ok and that Snowflake had not drawn blood. He did eat his breakfast after some convincing that it was strawberries and not my blood. Being a mommies boy, he looked my hand over to see for himself that I was not bleeding.
However, on Halloween, I could get him good with a little red food coloring if I wanted to really scare him.... We shall see.....

Jacobs pregnant!

The stomach bug is going around.... It's that time of year.
Jacob woke up this morning not feeling well. Today was supposed to be his fall party in preschool so he was putting on his brave face so he could go. Around 11:00 I asked him if he wanted to take a bath before the party. He quickly stripped and jumped in the bath. (He loves baths) No sooner did he get his foot in the tub he said he had to "potty". He got out and went to the toilet and did his business, but before flushing out came all his breakfast x 3. I asked him if his stomach hurt, and he said "yeah, the babies inside won't quit moving"

I guess thats his way of having a tummy ache. He has mentioned a few more times that "his babies are moving a lot". Unfortunately that meant I had to call his teacher and tell her he couldn't go to his party.
I felt like the worlds meanest mom as he was bawling his eyes out because he was going to miss it.
They did however, promise to save him several treats and party favors.

He pepped up a little and stop crying as hard when he found that he would still get his "trick or treat" bag he made. Then a little bribe from me to buy him a toy helped as well. (I'm a softie)

He picked out a skateboard set (the miniature kind) and we played "skateboard" all afternoon till he zonked out on the couch. He must truly have a small bug because he NEVER takes a nap on his own. He fell asleep on his own at 2:00 and its now 4:45.

I just hope his morning sickness goes away soon. He doesn't deserve to be sick, especially the babies in his stomach as well.

Camping

We took the boys camping this weekend. After 10 minutes on the road, Jacob asked if "we were there yet?"
Then after arriving and setting up the tent, I managed to get stung by some unknown bug. OUCH! Within 20 minutes of being there, I was on the phone with poison control. Yeah, thats right, Poison control. Jacob had decided he wanted to spray himself with bug spray and managed to inhale it all by mouth. He had apparently pointed the can straight into his mouth and "pushed"! His breath smelled strongly of "off deep woods" so I called poison control. Luckily, the only thing that would of happened was he would of thrown up, so we decided to continue on with our adventure.

Nolan is a monkey, aka a tree climber. He shimmied his way up a medium sized tree and got stuck and couldn't get down. He wanted me to climb up there and carry him down. (yeah right) We both managed to give a little on each our ends and safely reach solid ground again.

After TRYING to get the boys to bed, at 9:00 we decided to lay down with them. It was Soooooo hot, NO breeze, and people outside talking. OH and a air mattress with a possible hole. Makes for a LONG night. So around 12:00 in the AM Nolan, John, and I decided to get up and cool off. We sat by the campfire ring (no fire in it) and looked at the stars and just talked. Then a skunk appeared out of no where with her tail as tall as me! I didn't realize they could spray soo far. Luckily, she didn't spray and eventually walked away. WHEW!
We finally got to sleep. (Nolan and John on the mattress, with Jacob and I on the floor) Well, atleast the boys all got to sleep. I tossed and turned all night. Jacob woke around 3:00 am to "go look at bugs" and also because "he heard a dog". Now how can he hear a dog when hes asleep but can't hear me calling his name????
All in all, it was a good time and we got to enjoy it as a family.

STRANGER DANGER!

Today, Nolan, Jacob, & I were at the mall. I took the opportunity to teach Jacob about strangers. Nolan was helping with pointers on how to attack a stranger, although Jacob kept referring to them as "bad guys".
Nolan told Jacob "When you get as tall as me, you can hit them in the adams apple". But just in case you have a thought of kidnapping Jacob, BEWARE! His preferred way to ward of strangers is by "High YAH, and "Kicking them in the private parts" followed by more "High Yahs" then a little biting. You get the picture. But he cannot fight without the "High yahs" he claims. It gives him more "powers". So then we practiced saying "Stranger Danger, I don't know you!" in the car (Just in case it ever happened). Later, when we were walking around. Jacob found a new "stranger" but He knew he wasn't a bad guy, Cause he had on a  "cool shirt"!
::sigh::

TELEGRAM!

Anyone who knows Jacob, knows how random he is. The other day we were in an office. The door had a mail slot on it for mail. Jacob was being a normal 3 year old and touching everything he could (was allowed) to get his hands on. He's messing with the books, looking at the magazines, walks around the room in wonder, and suddenly pushes open the mail slot and yells, "TELEGRAM!!" I didn't even know he knew what that meant. John and I were laughing so hard. I asked him where he had heard of telegram before. Of course, Tom & Jerry he says. So, if you want to say something to him, just send him a telegram!
